Our campaign “It’s Time to Talk! – Children’s Views on Children’s Work” incorporates numerous international organisations, different stakeholders and individuals all campaigning to ensure that working children and young people all around the globe have a voice. Why? Because around 168 million boys and girls are currently working all over the world – 85 million under dangerous and hazardous conditions. And in order to understand the benefits, challenges and risks these children face each and every day, we have to listen to them.
Therefore, our ambition is to conduct a global consultation of working children. Together with an international network of scientists, partner organisations and of course the children themselves we want to figure out what their concerns are and what we can do to improve their situation.
What’s special – we involve children at all stages of that process. So called Children’s Advisory Committees will support us and ensure that the perspective of girls and boys is at the forefront of the survey at every step. Key findings from the consultations will then be shared in the run-up to the IV. Global Conference on Child Labour.
It’s Time to Talk! – So let’s listen to what working children have to say!
